Fees

 

Discounts will be made for block bookings of therapy.  Please telephone or email for further details. 

From time to time, it may be possible to offer sessions at reduced rates for clients with proof of low income.  Please telephone or email for further details.  

Initial Assessment: £75

This includes gathering background information, carrying out a range of formal and informal assessments as appropriate, writing an initial report and providing details of a recommended support plan.  For younger children, initial assessment may sometimes be spread across two sessions, however, the initial assessment cost of £75 remains the same and only petrol costs (if applicable) will charged at the second assessment visit.

Individual therapy/advice session:

30 min - £30

45 min - £45

60 min - £60

This charge includes all planning and preparation of your session including the cost of therapy materials needed during the session or for home practice, delivery of the therapy programme, discussion time and writing up of notes after the session.  I also provide telephone and email support to my clients between sessions.

Letters/Reports/home programmes:

These items are individually costed and charges will depend upon the complexity of the report/programme.  All charges will be agreed with you in advance.

Review session:

£60 hour/pro rata.

Other services:

• Attendance at meetings - £60 per hour (charged pro rata)

• Playgroup/nursery/school visit (ie not a therapy session) - £60 per hour pro rata. 

Travel

With such high fuel prices,we trust you will appreciate that we need to ask clients to make a contribution to cover our fuel costs when the therapist travels to a client's location (eg home, workplace or school).  Fuel is charged at 40 pence per mile and is payable at the same time as your session fee.  Please note that we will always keep travel expenses to a minimum and there is no charge for the therapist's travelling time.

Payment

All fees are agreed prior to the start of therapy.  All sessions must be paid for in advance or on the day in cash or by cheque payable to Sarah Squires. 

Cancellation of appointments

• Please provide at least 24 hours notice of cancellation.  Unfortunately, sessions cancelled by you with less than 24 hours notice will incur a charge of £20 which must be paid in full before the next scheduled therapy session.  This includes sessions cancelled due to illness. 

• Missed appointments will be charged at £60 per session.

• If a child’s therapy session is scheduled to take place at school, it is your responsibility to inform me directly if your child is not at school on that day.

• If more than 2 sessions in a row are cancelled or missed, therapy may be put on hold until circumstances permit regular attendance. 

• If your appointment has to be cancelled by me, I will aim to inform you at least 48 hours in advance and will make another appointment to suit you.

Working hours

I work with clients from 9.30 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday.  Sessions can sometimes be arranged outside of these times. 

I have a 24-hour answerphone service, and messages will be responded to as soon as possible during the above hours.

Location of sessions

Sessions may take place at the therapist’s clinic, or at the client’s home/workplace/school.  Where sessions take place at the client’s home/workplace, it is helpful, please, if you can provide a quiet environment, free from distraction (e.g. phone, TV) where possible.   Where the therapy involves a young child, it is highly likely that the parent/carer will stay with the child for part/all of the therapy session. 

Data Protection

This statement sets out the data protection policy in relation to the holding and using of information which may be obtained from you or other sources.
Information obtained will be with your consent and may include verbal or written reports on medical appointments and treatment sessions.  When therapy is for a child, it will be helpful for me to gather information about school progress relating to your child’s speech and language difficulty.  This information may be obtained from other professionals working with you or your child including doctors, teachers, and other therapists.  Any information shared with other professionals will be with your written consent and you will always be informed of any information sharing that may occur.  Personal data held by myself will be stored in a secure facility and will not be accessed by anyone but myself.  Client confidentiality will always be observed.  Paper information will be shredded one year after your last contact with me.
